Suddenly The Sea I

£250.00

Ever since I saw an artwork by Evelyn Gascoigne in the Art Gallery of New South Wales I have wanted to call a painting by this title. Her piece was made from Australian road signs which had been cut and collaged but instantly gave that impression and rekindled that precious memory from childhood of first seeing the sea emerge around the corner after a long journey. That magical feeling of suddenly seeing the water, light bouncing across waves still brings excitement and wonder.

Acrylic, ink, oil pastel, graphite

30 x 30 x 2cm, 34 x 34 x 3cm (framed in handprinted white tray frame)
