Do you have difficulty painting in watercolour? I get it, its not as easy as it looks. Creating landscapes for example in watercolour can be simple and fun- it’s a lot more than just recreating a scene- I’ll show you how.

• Exciting News! Following on from these taster sessions I will be running a new watercolour workshop on 15th June 2021 especially for you!

I am creating something new - an online workshop which not just covers the basics, but considers how to bring emotion and capture soul in landscapes. You can apply these ideas to any aspect of painting from portraits to still life or florals, as well as landscapes.

Over five weeks, workshops will be held on Zoom every Tuesday afternoon at 2pm-3pm (this has been extended to twice a week in the past by popular demand) and recorded with a link sent to you so you can watch them again later. An online Facebook group will provide community and support and a place to discuss ideas and our work outside of the workshops. If you aren’t on Facebook we can discuss by email too. You can do as little or as much as you like and (we don’t do homework- its not school :)) but you will get more out of the workshops if you follow along. The price is just £7 a week- the price of a cup of a very expensive coffee :) paid at the start ( total of just £35 ).

By the end you will have learnt to

• create on the spot watercolour sketches which convey mood and expression

• learn about value and contrast in greater depth to create great pictures.

• Learn about mixing colours.

• find out more about materials and techniques.

• have the confidence to show your work to others or exhibit.

• learn how to compile a sketchbook of ideas which you can return to again and again.
