The joy of watching the sunlight on the water, Koi Carp swimming under a brilliant sky, an iced Nam Manou (lime juice) watching the world go by. This was the scene at Jim Thompson’s house in Bangkok, the hub of a silk-weaving community. It is also reminiscent of the Koi outside temples: a sign of good fortune, good health and prosperity.
