Featured Artist and Commission for the Painswick Ball 18th June 2022

In March I was invited to participate as the featured artist at the hugely popular Painswick Ball. Set in the beautiful village of Painswick in the heart of the Cotswolds, the ball is an important event on the Cotswold calendar. Over three hundred people attend in June each year with tickets selling out in under a minute. In past years artists featured include Rupert Aker and Andy Lovell. The chosen charity to benefit this year is Mindsong, a fantastic charity which helps people with dementia through music. You can find out more here .

The painting captures the freedom and the feeling of flight in this iconic view from the top of the Painswick Beacon looking out towards the River Severn in the distance. I have painted this view several times and find it incredibly inspiring. Each time I find something different from the change in the clouds, the light, the colours and the details in the landscape.
